WARNING! WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE
Please read carefully. By signing below you agree to the terms and release Hanover Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, LLC and related parties from liability to the fullest extent allowed by law.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way, including travel to and from any Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (“BJJ”) or other grappling tournament, practice, clinic, or related events and activities including weight training (“Activity”) of Hanover Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, LLC, the United States Judo Association, Inc., United States Judo Federation, Inc., and USA Judo/United States Judo, Inc., I agree and affirm that:

1. I understand the nature of Judo, BJJ, weight training and other grappling activities and believe I am qualified to participate in such Activity. I also understand the rules governing the sport of Judo and BJJ.

2. I further acknowledge that prior to participating, I will inspect the mats, equipment, facilities, competition pools or divisions, and the elimination or scoring system to be used, and if I believe anything is unsafe or beyond my capability, I will immediately advise my coach, supervisor, and/or a tournament official of such conditions and refuse to participate.

3. I acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in a contact sport that might result in serious injury, illness or disease, including permanent disability or death, and severe social and economic losses due not only to my own actions, inactions or negligence, but also to the actions, inactions, or negligence of others, the rules of the sport of Judo and BJJ, associated training for the sport of Judo and BJJ or conditions of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

4. Knowing the risks involved in the sport of Judo and BJJ and associated training, I assume all such risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury, illness, disease, permanent disability, or death.

5. I hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Hanover Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, LLC, the United States Judo Association, Inc., United States Judo Federation, Inc., and USA Judo/United States Judo, Inc., together with their affiliated clubs, their respective administrators, directors, officers, agents, coaches, and other employees or volunteers of the organization, event officials, medical personnel, other participants, their parents, legal guardians, supervisors and coaches, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners, lessors, and lessees of premises used in conducting the event, all of whom are hereinafter referred to as “Releasees”, from any and all litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage or costs on account of injury, illness, disease, including permanent disability and death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligent acts or omissions of the Releasees or otherwise to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I HAVE READ THE ABOVE WARNING, WAIVER, AND RELEASE, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND KNOWING THIS, SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY AND WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT OR ASSURANCE OF ANY NATURE. I AGREE TO PARTICIPATE KNOWING THE RISKS AND CONDITIONS INVOLVED AND DO SO ENTIRELY OF MY OWN FREE WILL. I AFFIRM THAT I AM AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE, OR, IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, I HAVE OBTAINED THE REQUIRED CONSENT OF MY PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN AS EVIDENCED BY THEIR SIGNATURE BELOW. I INTEND THIS TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW AND AGREE THAT IF ANY PORTION OF THIS AGREEMENT IS HELD TO BE INVALID THAT THE BALANCE, NOTWITHSTANDING SHALL CONTINUE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.

This is to certify that I, as parent/legal guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to his/her release, as provided above, of all the Releasees, and, for myself, my heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation including litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage or costs which may incur as the result of the minor child’s participation in these programs as provided above, even if arising from their negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I have instructed the minor participant as to the above warnings and conditions and their ramifications.

Coach Rosie is a seasoned martial artist and an instructor at Hanover Brazilian Jujitsu’s youth classes. With nearly 30 years of experience, she has honed her skills across various disciplines. Rosie is dedicated to imparting her knowledge to students of all ages.
Passionate about teaching, she guides students through the complexities of martial arts, helping them develop technical skills and discipline. Drawing from her experiences as both a competitor and coach in numerous tournaments, Rosie prepares her students for competition and/or personal growth while fostering a supportive environment. Outside of martial arts, she lives with her two children and three dogs, balancing family life with her commitment to nurturing the next generation of martial artists.

Mark is an Operational Manager for Dining Services at a retirement community. Along with many other hobbies he found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu over 7 years ago. Mark officially joined the 3G team as a Blue Belt and has since received his Purple and Brown Belt from the 3G instructors at York BJJ. Being from the Hanover area one of his goals is to help provide a safe environment for people to learn and practice self defense and sport jiu jitsu in his hometown.

Monica Brogan

Monica is a paralegal by trade and was drawn to the martial arts seeking a fitness activity that she could share with her husband. Monica instantly fell in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Monica holds a second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a first degree black belt in Judo. Monica has completed the IBJJF BJJ Rules certification.
Monica is the founder and head instructor of the Dangerous Damsels women’s self defense program, the area’s premier women’s self defense program with locations in York, Harrisburg and Scranton, PA.

Dave is an attorney by trade and was drawn to the martial arts primarily for fitness and self-defense. Dave holds a 4th degree black belt in Judo, a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Dave is a certified USJA Judo coach, has completed the IBJJF BJJ Rules certification, has completed the CDC’s “Heads Up Concussion in Youth Sports” training, and Teams USA’s “Safe Sport” child abuse awareness training. Dave is the president of the United States Judo Association and is the Chairman of the Kosen Judo Committee.
Dave’s competitive accomplishments include:

Gregg Anderson

Owner/BJJ Instructor

Gregg, a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, is a detective by trade and has co-owned and operated Harrisburg Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo for over a decade. Gregg is the Harrisburg area’s first black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is a brown belt in Judo. With a focus on teaching, Gregg has produced numerous champions in gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Gregg takes pride in training students for competition, but at the same time, he recognizes that competition is not for everyone. As such, Gregg is dedicated to helping students achieve whatever their goals may be, whether they be self-defense, fitness or competition. In addition to teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Gregg has taught arrest and control tactics to military and law enforcement agents for over a decade.
